Agusta thorarinsdottir

einkofi Project director/Producer

Agusta Thorarinsdottir is an Icelandic-British director and creative producer based between Iceland and the UK, working at the intersection of contemporary art, music, and cultural heritage. Through her production company Einkofi Productions, she has developed a distinctive practice centred on international collaboration, site-specific work, and the creative exploration of North Atlantic histories and identities.

With a background in Social Anthropology — holding a BA from the University of Iceland and an MA from the University of Manchester — Agusta brings a deeply research-led approach to her projects. Her work has spanned light art festivals, AV installations, commissioned music, and large-scale cultural tourism events across Iceland, the UK, Scandinavia, and Ireland. Notable projects include the Creative Europe-funded Moving Classics: Sonic Flux, which explores displacement through music and film, and the NATUR: North Atlantic Tales project, connecting artists and communities across the North Sea through shared heritage and residencies.

Agusta has collaborated with festivals including SPECTRA Aberdeen, the Reykjavík Winter Light Festival, Liverpool Biennial, and the Púca Festival in Ireland, and has worked alongside leading Nordic and international artists, composers, and institutions. Her practice is driven by a commitment to cross-cultural exchange, community engagement, and the commissioning of bold new artistic works.
