who am i?
north macedonia

WHO AM I? is a short documentary film in which three actors with different backgrounds and distinct life stories reflect on their identities — both in real life and on stage or screen.

The narrative is structured in three chapters, each dedicated to one actor. Each chapter is composed of conversations in which the actors speak about their personal identities; inserts from their private and public lives; preparations for performance (make-up, costuming, final rehearsals); and excerpts from stage or screen work.

Asdren Selimi works at the Albanian Theatre in Skopje, navigating multiple linguistic and cultural identities across Albanian, Macedonian, and wider European contexts.

Biljana Jovanovska brings experience of theatre that crosses linguistic and ethnic boundaries within North Macedonia.

Angela Stojanovska is an actress at the Comedy Theatre, originally from Kumanovo, who lives in Skopje with her girlfriend. Through comedy, she challenges stereotypes about women in a patriarchal and conservative environment.

Note: The script is in development and the final cast is not yet fixed.
